Samantha's Lawn Party Outfit?

I'm going to AGPNY Sunday (the day after my birthday-it's my present [img]biggrin.gif[/img] )

Samantha, my very first doll, hasn't had a new outfit in 6 years [img]frown.gif[/img] . My poor girl. I feel so bad for her, and I am in deep love with the lawn party outfit.

The actual outfit is adorable and I ADORE the crocquet set. Plus, she can wear it for Memorial Day.

THIS is where the problem comes in. My Sam is a PM. I'm very, VERY afraid the outfit won't fit her! But I loooove this outfit [img]frown.gif[/img] .

Does anyone have a PM Sam and the lawn party outfit and can answer these questions:

Is it too small?
Can the velcro still Close?
Does the hat fit?
Is it cute in person?
How are the crocquet accsessories?

PLUS, I am going to need the shoes and socks, because she only has her cruddy black meet ones (she used to have the shoes and socks that macthed her party outfit, but I can't find them [img]frown.gif[/img] I'm going to need to get another set, along with a replacement rosebud circlet)

Do the shoes and socks fit PM's? They never changed the size of the dolls feet right?

BTW, my Sam is a late PM, I reccieved her for Christmas of 2000, so she's a little skinner than earlier PM's.

Also, if anyone has pictures of a PM Sam in the outfit, I'd love to see [img]smile.gif[/img] .

I have a white body Sam... do you know how to spell T-I-G-H-T??? It is VERY tight! The dress is ultra cute, and the crocket set is adorable!
If you can take your Sam with you and try it on at the store, it would be worth it. I had to exchange it and it still is tight, but then again, my Sam comes after me... [img]redface.gif[/img]

Mmmmm...maybe. It's a good idea, but I wasn't planning to bring Sam.

My PM Sam fits better in this outfit than my Mattel Sam! [img]tongue.gif[/img] I suggest you get it! I love the fabric to this outfit.. only neg is that you need to iron it ... [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I have too have a white-body Sam (PM) and the outfit is snug on my doll, but not THAT tight. The velcro closes with no problem, the sleeves are fitted (no extra room) but not busting at the seams. So in answer to your questions...
1. No, it's not too tight. (Keep in mind, it is snug but that's how Victorian era clothes are supposed to fit! They wore corsets and everthing with tight fitting collars, sleeves, bodices, etc.
2. Yes, the velcro still closes with no problems or squeezing.
3. The hat fits just fine.
4. This is ULTRA cute in person. It's one of my fav. Sam outfits!
5. The croquet set is adorable with the wooden mallet and wooden ball (even my dad commented on how cute this was!)

And, I highly recommend this outfit! Sooo cute on Samantha! Very historical!

It was really really tight on my white bodied Sam. She said she felt like a stuffed potato and didn't want to wear the dress. She was borrowing it from her "cousin" (Nellie_Girl's Samantha). Cousin Samantha is late PM, I think, and it seems to fit her well enough for display.

If you can't bring two dolls and would rather bring Jess, why not just measure around Sam's middle, and when you're in the store, buy the dress that's closest to Samantha's measurements?
